6 Ways To Tell Someone Likes You

Want to know what signs to look for to tell if someone likes you? Here are our top 6 to keep an eye out for.

  1. Mutual eye contact.

If someone is interested in you they are much more likely to try and catch your eye and will maintain eye contact whilst talking to you.

Maintaining eye contact elevates your oxytocin levels and increases mutual attraction!

Just make sure that your eye contact doesn’t end up verging on staring as that’s rude and might scare your date!

  1. Finding excuses to touch you.

When someone likes you’ll they’ll quite often go out of their way to find excuses to touch you.

This might be lightly touching your arm as they talk to you or finding an excuse to hold your hand.

Another way they could touch you is by “preening”. Picking fluff off your clothing or straightening your collar or tie could be an indication that they’re interested in you.

  1. Inward leaning.

The way a person is sitting is an important gauge as to whether they like you. People tend to lean towards people and try to close the gap between you. For example uncrossing their arms/legs or leaning over a table or if you’re sitting next to each other, they’d be likely turned towards you to give you their full attention.

  1. Mirroring.

Subtle mirroring indicates attraction. If they cross their arms when you do, or uncross their legs when you do then it is very likely that there is attraction there.

People who like one another are likely to mirror each other’s body positions. It can help establish rapport and sends a subconscious signal that you’re interested.

  1. No barriers between you.

If they are interested in you they are likely to remove any barriers or obstacles between you. If they’re sitting opposite you they might move to sit next to you or if there is something big on the table they might move it out of the way so they can see you better.

They might move cups and things out of the way so that there is a clear path between you, or also as mentioned previously, they may uncross their arms or legs as this can be seen as a barrier, so removal of this leaves them more open towards you.

  1. They ask you lots of questions.

If someone is asking you a lot of questions about yourself and seems genuinely interested – then they probably are!

If you like someone you want to make time to find out more information about them so if someone is making an effort to learn about you then they are likely to have a vested interest in you.

We all love a semi; some facts about Croatia!

With the England v Croatia semi-final game looming, we thought you might find some facts about Croatia useful!

Impress your partner by saying “I love you” in Croatian – “Volim te”. (Probably not the best idea if you’re on a first date though!).

Put a spark into the conversation by telling them Nikola Tesla was born in Croatia.

Dubrovnik was known as the “Adriatic Pearl” in the early 19th century and was a filming location for “Game of Thrones” King’s Landing and Star Wars – certainly somewhere to visit if you holiday together!

Croatians had their own alphabet from the 12th to the 20th century. The Glagolitic alphabet was preserved only by Croats. Why not write a secret note for them to decode? The pen was also invented in Croatia, originally a mechanical pencil called the “Penkala”.

If you’re thinking of buying your date some flowers, know that the national flower of Croatia is the Iris.

If your date is a fan of musicals, they’ll be impressed to know that the island of Vis is used to portray Greece in the film ‘Mamma Mia 2’.

For a romantic getaway why not take your partner to Dalmatia? Shakespeare’s comedy Twelfth Night was set there.

If you’re one for dressing smartly for your date, you can enlighten your date on the fact that the necktie was invented in Croatia.

If Dating Was Like the Movies

Here at You’ve Pulled we’re suckers for a good rom-com or love story; from the classics such as Pretty Woman and Breakfast at Tiffany’s to the more modern day rom coms such as He’s Just Not That Into You and Love Actually – we’ve seen them all. However, there’s just one thing bugging us. You see, the thing about these films is that dating just isn’t like that in real life. Know how we know? Because if it was things like this would happen…
Music would play… every time you kiss.
You’d never… get food in your teeth, trip over, have bad breath, have a hair out of place, or sit through an awkward silence.
All of your dates would… take place in the coolest bar in town, on a yatch, on a rooftop, in front of the most amazing backdrop – you get the idea.
You’d meet hot singles… in the most mundane places such as the library, on the train or at your local coffee shop.
Office romances… would never be messy or awkward.
Your date would look like… Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie, Scarlet Johansson, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Channing Tatum {insert any hot celeb name here}.
You’d kiss in the rain… not end up wet, miserable and resembling a drowned rat!
Eating a plate of spaghetti… would result in locking lips with your lover as opposed to having sauce down your chin and all over your new white top.
Your dramatic attempt at running away to start a new life… would end in your love interest chasing after you and stopping you just before you board the plane. This would, of course, be followed by a weepy round of applause from the crowd!
Your new love would… declare their love for you on a series of romantic flash cards, serenade you, buy you a new wardrobe etc.
You’d always get… the girl/guy.
You’d live… happily ever after!
Yep, dating is pretty glamorous in the movies isn’t it? *swoon*. Can you think of any rom-com clichés that don’t happen in real life?

You’ve Pulled presents the top ten tips for pulling

Woman winkingFed up with being more George Formby than George Clooney? Don’t despair as the YP team have put together the top ten pulling tips to guarantee success. After years of hard research trawling through bars, clubs, and alley ways in search of the opposite sex…we have put together this valuable tome to help one and all in their quest for pulling.

These simple rules apply to both guys and girls.

  1. Clean your teeth – a clean mouth is a happy mouth. The best chat up line in the World won’t help you if it’s caked in gaseous toxic bad breath. Use some mouth freshener and make sure that lamb chop you had for dinner isn’t sticking out your front incisor.
  2. The numbers game – follow the rules of probability! Probability is a way of expressing knowledge or belief that an event will occur or has occurred – simply put the more people you approach the higher your chance of pulling success. Simple!
  3. Timing – this should be linked to the probability tip above. Give yourself plenty of time. Don’t leave everything to the last minute – we’ve all been there when panic sets in ten minutes before the club is about to close and you realise that you should of got in there earlier so don’t wait till the last minute and remember the 3 P’s of pulling – planning, preparation and presentation,.
  4. Be realistic – beauty and the beast is a fairy tale! Beauty only tends to go for the beast if he/she is an A lister or if you have the cash funds of a Saudi prince. So stick to people who you have a reasonable chance with. You could increase your chances by actually playing below par – a friend of mine used to say ‘go ugly early to avoid the rush’ that way he knew he had a high chance of success. It’s a funny old game this pulling lark!
  5. Alcohol – let’s be honest we all love it! Be it ten pints of lager, a couple of bottles of Blossom Hill or a few glasses of Disaronno. It gets us going and in the mood. Just the right amount can make us funnier, more confident and more relaxed…but don’t go too far as it can oh so easily go horribly wrong. So know your limits and watch out for those beer goggles to avoid any nasty shocks the next morning.
  6. Chat up lines – Grab your coat…You’ve Pulled!! – do any of these actually work? The truth is no…well not that we have found. With the risk of sounding a bit lame, you have to be yourself – well actually be just the good bits of yourself – funnier, more intelligent and mysterious than you would normally be. I mean you wouldn’t be yourself in a job interview would you? So just treat it as the same thing – an interview to… err…getting laid!
  7.  Appearance – which would you rather unwrap? The present in the cheap brown paper or the expensive looking sparkly paper one with a bow! Be that expensive present and dress well and maybe someone will want to unwrap you. We ain’t got time to go through the whole Gok Wan lesson in what or what not to wear so just dress well and use some common sense i.e. 20 stone + hot pants = misery.
  8. Humour – You don’t have to have the razor sharp intellect of Stephen Fry, just try and show you have a few brain cells in there with a little flirty witty conversation. Keep jokes cheeky and clean. Again, be careful with the alcohol on this one. Start slurring your words and it’s game over.
  9. Friends – an under valued commodity in the dating game – they can be a good source of providing possible targets, they can be used to do your bidding – “excuse me…my mate fancies you” and most importantly they are there to back you up (laugh at you) should you fail on the pulling task.
  10.  Technology – this is the 21st Century baby! The micro chip has had a big stake in today’s dating game – online dating, text messages, phone chat, chat rooms, social networks – you name it you’ll find it and they are all designed to get you chatting and meeting people. So give it a go…Hell you could even try You’ve Pulled.com and see if you can pull online, by text or on the phone. What have you got to lose?
